The FACT program Innovations in biofuels for local development aims to spur innovations that lead to more affordable and reliable bioenergy and biofuel systems. The program has recently started with 6 projects in which FACT and its partners field-test innovations in a real setting, together with the local participants being villages, communities, cooperatives or associations.

The program will document and assess the scope and value of the innovations in the projects and disseminate the knowledge in documents and documentaries. The program builds on synergies between research communities in developing countries and OECD countries, and  the development investment community (ONGO’s, Social Investors, etc..) which will ultimately lead to a more mature market for biofuel and bioenergy systems.
