FACT’s vision is that since 1.4 billion of people are not served by modern energy services, there will be a generation of people who are easily marginalized, remaining in poverty for the next decades if no substantial efforts are made to improve their situation. These people lack access to affordable energy for further development. FACT believes that the production and utilization of biofuels from locally produced feedstocks offers great opportunities for local business development. An additional advantage is that combined production of biofuels and food crops can increase profitability of agricultural systems and thus increase overall productivity levels.
