FACT Foundation was founded in May 2005 by a group of experts in biofuels. FACT Foundation consists of an Office, an Executive Board and an Advisory Board.The Office handles daily activities and maintains contacts with the counterparts, projects, and financiers. The Office also prepares publications, maintains the website and organises special events, such as workshops.

FACT works with a group of associates who have been involved with FACT since the early beginning and are:

• Diligent Energy Systems BV
• RREnergy BV
• Stichting STRO

The associates work together with FACT's counterparts in the target countries. Field and office work is also done by part-time employees, volunteers and students. FACT strives at attracting motivated young professionals and students from developing countries for internships within FACT Foundation. Further, there are research programmes set up with Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and Wageningen University and Research (WUR).

FACT's Executive Board consists of René Thuring (Chairman), Alfred Geitenbeek, Ruud van Eck (Treasurer), Johan Sanders and Sybren de Hoo.

FACT's Advisory Board is made up of a group of international experts. Members of whom are presently: Prof. Udipi Shrinivasa (Bangalore, India), Mr. Ibrahim Togola (Barnako, Mali), Mr. Niels Ansø (Dronninglund, Denmark) and Reinhard Henning (Germany).

FACT Foundation is a civil organisation registered as Stichting Fuels from Agriculture in Communal Technology with the Chamber of Commerce Oost-Brabant , The Netherlands (registration no. 17177185).
