Jatropha literature and perspectives review: Main potential social and environmental impacts arising from large scale plantings
Please read ‘Jatropha literature and perspectives review: Main potential social and environmental impacts arising from large scale plantings’. The document was based on existing publications and input from several contributors such as FACT. The scope of the paper was limited to potential risks and impacts, and aimed to summarise the current perception of these. The document was prepared as a background paper for a meeting on Jatropha organised by the Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels and WWF in Brussels on the 15th of May. The work was funded by BP and also served as input into the development of their own sustainability programme for Jatropha planting by their Joint Venture company, D1-BP.
