FACT is proud to present the pre-publication of:

"Land Clearing and Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Jatropha Biofuels on African Miombo Woodland"

This excellent and up-to-date study by Dr. Henny Romijn (Technical University Eindhoven) investigates greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from land use change associated with the introduction of large-scale Jatropha curcas cultivation on Miombo Woodland, using data from extant forestry and ecology studies about this ecosystem. It is one of the first studies that includes organic soil carbon in the calculations as well as carbon in standing -, and below ground biomass.
