New report on Jatropha processing
October 21st, 2011
In September 2011, a new report was released on the processing of Jatropha Curcas: "Jatropha Curcas Processing - An overview". The report includes new insights on pressing of jatropha nuts and removal of fines from the oil; the composition of smoke from the combustion of jatropha oil and by-products; process optimization based on oil quality; and valorization of by-products.
The work is based on a range of new experiments with different presses, filters and combustion configurations. It has been carried out by Wageningen UR Food & Biobased Research, commissioned by Stichting Het Groene Woudt. The main report can be dowloaded here. A separate report on measurements on smoke can be downloaded here.
