In december 2010, staff from FACT Foundation and Mali Biocarburant (MBSA) jointly installed a small biogas system at the site of MBSA in Koulikoro, Mali. The unit is a plug-flow system made from fibre-reinforced PVC, and produces biogas from cow dung and jatropha press cake. The unit is used for various tests: the biogas will be used to fuel a Multifunctional Platform engine, and a student from AVANS Hogeschool in Breda is working on upgrading of the digester effluent.
